Summary:
As a compassionate PRN Inpatient Registered Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during your shifts. Your role is crucial in ensuring safe, effective, patient-centered, and timely care.

Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours
Responsibilities:
• Act as a clinical resource, overseeing patient care delivery, directing and delegating assignments to home health aides based on patient needs.
• Maintain clinical competency in direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, consulting specialists as needed, and adjusting care processes for optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding their rights, responsibilities, and care processes.
• Assess educational needs and deliver hands-on teaching using various aids in the home setting.
• Stay updated with current nursing research, practice standards, and hospital policies for improved patient care quality.
• Communicate effectively within the nursing team and tackle problem-solving and conflict resolution to enhance team dynamics.
• Perform on-call duties, triaging patients over the phone and visiting as necessary.
• Supervise home health aides per Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
• Undertake additional functions as required to support patient care.
Qualifications:
Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required.
Academic Preparation: Degree from an accredited nursing program (if a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO). Minimum ADN with an expectation to complete a BSN within five years of hire.
