
PRN Orthopedic Operating Room Registered Nurse Circulator in Clearfield, UT
Job Description
Position Summary: Enjoy a dynamic role as an Orthopedic Operating Room Circulator Nurse, where you will provide top-notch perioperative nursing care in an ambulatory orthopedic setting. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive nurse who is passionate about ensuring patient safety and enhancing the surgical experience for both patients and the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively in an outpatient environment.
• Act as a dedicated patient advocate throughout the surgical experience.
• Perform circulating duties during orthopedic surgeries, strictly adhering to safety protocols and sterile techniques.
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, and consent before every procedure.
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients during surgery, collaborating closely with surgical and anesthesia teams.
• Ensure all necessary equipment, instruments, and implants are ready, functioning, and accurately documented.
• Coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs for seamless case flow and turnover.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
• Comply with infection control, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Engage in quality improvement efforts and contribute to the development of best practices.
• Support colleagues in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized OR environment.
Qualifications:
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah.
• Certification: Current BLS required; ACLS preferred. CNOR certification is a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years in perioperative nursing is required; orthopedic and ambulatory surgery experience is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking abilities in a fast-paced setting.
