Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are currently hiring for PRN Registered Nurse to provide outstanding patient care and physical support for patients on a daily basis and in a professional and compassionate manner. We have positions available in Acute Care and Long Term Care. As the Registered Nurse, this position is responsible for providing outstanding patient care and physical support for patients on a daily basis and in a professional and compassionate manner. Responsibility includes creating and/or maintaining accurate patient records, administering medication, and monitoring side effects, and reporting symptoms and changes in patient conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Weston County Health Services (WCHS).
- Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
- Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- Monitors and records patient vital signs and medical information.
- Orders medical diagnostic and clinical tests as required.
- Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
- Administers non-intravenous medications as required.
- Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans.
- Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
- Turning and repositioning bedridden patients as required.
- Ensures patients receive appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
- Obtaining a wide range of information regarding patient condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities as needed.
- Measures, monitors and records food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical staff.
- Records vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested.
- Examines patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
- Reminds patients to take medication and nutritional supplements as required.
- Coordinates with medical staff and other departments to ensure efficiency.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and other assigned meetings.
- Adheres to accreditation and compliance standard guidelines.
- Assists in completing required reports, program reviews and preparation.
- Utilizes good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with clients, providers, co-workers and other sections in the organization and with other facilities in the community.
- Maintains a professional, organized and clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards.
- Completes Work Assignments in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Wyoming State Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Accredited Nursing Degree from an Accredited Nursing Program
- Exceptional knowledge of medical terminology and processes.
- Has and maintains BLS and ACLS Certification.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Occasional after-hours calls may occur.
- Must be able to access, find, and navigate each department at WCHS.
- Positions requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
- Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
