Job Summary and Qualifications
We are looking for a compassionate RN to deliver exceptional care in our radiation oncology unit. In this role, you will assist patients undergoing various radiation therapies for cancer treatment. Join us to work in a supportive and teamwork-oriented environment!
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide care for patients receiving external beam radiation, including stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and brachytherapy.
• Educate patients and families about radiation treatments and potential side effects for various cancers such as gynecological, skin, prostate, breast, brain, and others.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of medical professionals, including nurses, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, physicists, and oncologists to create and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor and communicate patient conditions effectively.
• Maintain cultural awareness while interacting with patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN License in Virginia or a Multistate Compact License.
• One year of oncology or radiation oncology nursing experience in a clinic or acute care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.
