
PRN Surgical Nurse in Carlyss, LA
Job Description
The ideal Surgical Nurse is a competent professional who applies their skills independently in a dynamic clinical environment. With the capability to deliver both routine and advanced care, this nurse effectively establishes long-range goals while adapting to the complexities of surgical nursing. They proficiently delegate tasks to other caregivers, ensuring the effective management of clinical situations.
Responsibilities:
• Exemplifies the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Delivers nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice by employing the nursing process for assigned patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Adds value by addressing the evolving psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administers medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Keeps accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assesses educational needs and empowers patients, families, and caregivers with relevant information and resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• Valid RN License in the state of employment or compact.
