The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their treatment. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, focusing on patient assessment, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. The RN participates in treatment planning as a member of interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician; assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations; provide and direct milieu management, and additional tasks as needed. Best candidates for this position will have behavioral health experience, a strong work-ethic, and highly consistent timeliness and attendance!. PATIENT POPULATIONS: Adult and Children's Units AVAILABLE SHIFTS: • 9am - 9pm • 7am - 7pm • 7pm - 7am Responsibilities • Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental and physical health, documenting findings accurately in medical records. • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. • Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions. • Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies. • Engage in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients returning to their community or home environment. • Maintain accurate medical documentation • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices within the psychiatric unit. Skills and Competencies • Previous experience in a mental health hospital setting is preferred. • Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care is preferred. • Familiarity with medical documentation practices is advantageous. • Experience in discharge planning and working with diverse patient populations is highly valued. • Strong clinical and nursing skills • Knowledge of aliment-related issues affecting mental health is a plus. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction. • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with others • Ability to exhibit empathy, respect and compassion that involve understanding and care for patients. Requirements • Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred. • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kentucky required. • Minimum of one (1) year related experience required.
