
Psychiatric Nurse (RN) - Putney, Vermont in Westmoreland, NH
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A nursing professional with expertise in psychiatric care is sought for a specialized adolescent inpatient unit located in Putney, VT. This contract role requires an advanced understanding of co-occurring disorders, including substance use and mental health challenges such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. The position demands a candidate who is highly experienced and comfortable working with adolescents in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
• Employ the nursing process to deliver complex nursing care tailored to individual and group needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment interventions.
• Provide clinical supervision to Mental Health Workers to ensure safe and therapeutic patient care.
• Participate in a 24-hour care program focused on medically assisted withdrawal, stabilization, and ongoing recovery support.
• Support patients sobriety efforts while managing co-occurring psychiatric conditions through evidence-based care.
Desired Qualifications:
• Licensed Registered Nurse with psychiatric nursing experience.
• Proven ability to work confidently with adolescent populations in an inpatient mental health setting.
• Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills to supervise care delivery.
• Experience with co-occurring disorder treatment protocols is highly preferred.
• Effective communicator and team player in a multidisciplinary care model.
