Provide compassionate and specialized nursing care in a psychiatric acute care setting serving adolescent and young adult populations. This contract role focuses on delivering quality mental health support in a low to moderate acuity environment, helping patients through critical phases of care. Responsibilities: • Deliver direct nursing care to psychiatric patients in an acute care unit • Monitor and assess patient behaviors and symptoms, implementing appropriate interventions • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to create and maintain individualized care plans • Ensure safety protocols are followed for patients and staff in a secure environment • Administer medications and treatments per physicians orders • Accurately document patient progress and incidents in the medical record system, including Epic Qualifications & Experience: • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in psychiatric acute care, particularly with adolescents and young adults • CPR certification required • Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required for submission • Experience with Epic electronic health records system • Ability to complete or current on CANTS form compliance • Strong communication and teamwork skills Schedule: • 8-hour daytime shifts, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm • Every other weekend • Holidays as needed This role offers the chance to apply your psychiatric nursing expertise in a supportive environment focused on patient well-being.
