An opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide skilled psychiatric nursing care at a behavioral health hospital in Warm Springs, Montana. This 26-week contract position involves delivering direct patient care in a secure, acute psychiatric environment focused on compassionate, therapeutic support. Location: Warm Springs, Montana, a serene community set against a backdrop of scenic mountain landscapes. Schedule/Hours: • 3648 hours per week depending on unit needs • Available shifts: • Day Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM • Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM • Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct psychiatric nursing care in compliance with facility protocols and physician orders • Administer medications and therapeutic treatments safely and accurately • Perform patient assessments, monitor behavioral and medical statuses, and document findings • Respond promptly to psychiatric and medical emergencies • Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care • Develop and implement individualized care plans • Maintain a safe environment through adherence to behavioral health protocols and de-escalation techniques • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions Qualifications: • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing • Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing preferred • Current BLS certification required • Crisis intervention training (CPI, MOAB) preferred and may be required before starting • Ability to pass background and drug screening This contract role offers flexible start dates every two weeks and an excellent chance to expand skills in psychiatric nursing within a supportive, clinical setting.
