Psychiatric Registered Nurse | La Luz, New Mexico in La Luz, NM

A registered nurse with strong psychiatric and addiction skills is needed to provide exceptional care for adult patients experiencing acute psychiatric conditions. This role supports a growing unit with a current capacity of up to 16 patients and plans to expand to accommodate 24-30 patients. The ideal candidate demonstrates independent practice while effectively managing complex clinical situations and collaborating with the care team. Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care based on the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate assigned patients. • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. • Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness. • Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately. • Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education and resources. • Meet organizational competencies including leadership at various levels. Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. • Minimum of one year experience in psychiatric nursing or related specialty. • Valid RN license in New Mexico or through the Nurse Licensure Compact. • Current BLS certification (AHA only).
