Location: Situated near Louisville, KY, this facility offers a 21-bed acute psych unit with a caring multidisciplinary team. The unit's patient-to-nurse ratio ensures quality care, fostering a positive and safe space for adolescent patients. Responsibilities: • Deliver skilled nursing care to adolescent patients with acute psychiatric needs • Monitor patient condition and communicate changes effectively within the care team • Utilize crisis prevention interventions and de-escalation techniques to maintain safety • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff including Mental Health Technicians and Psychiatric Consultants • Accurately document all patient care activities using Cerner EMR • Adhere to facility dress code and behavioral health protocols Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Valid RN licensure with at least 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience • Current BLS certification required • Experience with acute psychiatric patients, preferably adolescents • Familiarity with Cerner EMR system and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) techniques strongly preferred • Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm during de-escalation Schedule: • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift • 36 guaranteed weekly hours • Weekend work every third weekend • No call requirements This position is offered on a contract basis, ideal for nurses looking for flexible experience in psychiatric care.
