The Regional Director of Nursing provides leadership and oversight for nursing operations across assigned clinics and healthcare sites, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and alignment with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include:
Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in the strategic and operational management of regional nursing services, including workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
Provide visible leadership across assigned clinics, building trust, engagement, and accountability within nursing teams.
Develop, prepare, and analyze operational and quality reports to identify trends, drive performance improvement, and support evidence-based practice.
Serve as a key nursing leader on organizational committees and in leadership meetings.
Monitor nursing coverage schedules across assigned sites; ensure adequate staffing levels and equitable workload distribution.
Conduct staff performance evaluations, provide coaching and corrective action as needed, and support professional development of team members.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, CMS, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal organizational policies.
Lead regional quality assurance (QA) initiatives, including monitoring, assigning, and tracking completion of staff QA responsibilities.
Ensure effective management of Epic workflows including in-baskets, MyChart, prescription refills, referrals, and prior authorizations.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor clinic operations, provide leadership presence, and assess nursing practices.
Facilitate quarterly one-on-one meetings with staff, chart audits, AIDET observations, and team huddles.
Provide leadership in patient safety, emergency response, and continuity of care, serving as a clinical resource when needed.
Contribute to ongoing leadership development of nursing personnel through mentoring, education, and direct engagement.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to see and hear with accuracy.
Standard 8-hour shifts with flexibility to meet operational needs.
Indoor office/clinic environment with frequent travel between sites.
Prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and telephone communication.
Occasional reaching, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, or lifting up to 25 lbs.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies.
Ability to travel frequently between regional clinics on a weekly basis.
Capacity to understand, retain, and execute complex oral and written instructions.
QualificationsTitle: Regional Director of Nursing (Registered Nurse)
Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN strongly preferred.
Current RN license in the State of Texas.
Current CPR certification.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience required; ambulatory, multi-site or regional leadership preferred.

Ability to oversee and direct CMA, LVN, and RN staff across multiple clinics/healthcare sites.
