Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at HCA Healthcare, you will be integral in delivering high-quality care to patients transitioning from intensive care. Your role will empower patients in their recovery journeys and help them regain strength.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing essential hands-on care for patients with complex needs by administering medications, assisting with daily activities, managing medical equipment, and supporting advanced monitoring.
• Closely monitoring vital signs and updating the healthcare team on any significant changes to ensure prompt treatment.
• Maintaining clear and accurate patient records to facilitate teamwork and patient safety.
• Guiding patients and their families through understanding care plans and emotional support during recovery.
• Collaborating with RNs, doctors, and specialists to help patients advance from critical care.
Qualifications:
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Licensure as a Practical or Vocational Nurse.
• Graduation from a recognized vocational nursing program.
