
Registered Nurse - Acute MedSurgical PRN in Austin, TX
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role will practice independently in an acute MedSurgical setting, providing both routine and complex care to patients. This position requires the capability to manage long-range goals and adapt to the various contingencies encountered in clinical nursing.
The RN will effectively delegate tasks and make appropriate assignments to other care providers, facilitating optimal patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates competencies in leadership and nursing practice, consistent with the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies.
• Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to offer comprehensive care to assigned patients in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Adheres to protocols for administering medications and treatments; monitors patients for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Accurately documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Identifies patient education needs and provides resources for patients, family members, and caregivers.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
BLS certification is required.
RN License in the state of employment or compact.
Work Schedule:
7AM - 7PM
