Company: Allegheny Health Network Job Description: GENERAL OVERVIEW: As a Registered Nurse, you will assess patient needs, plan and implement nursing care, and evaluate the outcomes for individuals or families under your care. You will hold full accountability for your actions as a licensed nurse, ensuring high-quality care for your patients. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide leadership within a professional practice environment. • Actively engage as a team player, helping colleagues succeed through mentorship and role modeling. • Delegate tasks effectively according to patient needs and the skill levels of the nursing team. • Maintain a safe environment while considering patient condition and the nature of interventions. • Offer constructive feedback to peers to enhance clinical practices. • Share knowledge and skills to foster a collaborative team atmosphere. • Create a culture of learning by accepting and learning from mistakes. • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess and improve clinical care. • Promote and adhere to patient safety initiatives. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives specific to your department. • Supervise and evaluate the work of assigned LPNs and support staff when appropriate. • Utilize the nursing process to deliver individualized patient care, in line with physician orders and hospital policy. • Establish culturally and age-appropriate outcomes in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. • Continuously assess and document changes in patient conditions, contacting physicians when necessary. • Adapt to various assignments beyond your primary unit based on your competencies. • Commit to lifelong learning to keep your skills current and effective. • Engage with professional organizations to advocate for nursing advancement. • Participate in systematic evaluations of your practice through peer reviews and feedback. • Meet all time and attendance requirements as per hospital policy. • Evaluate patient and family satisfaction continuously. • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving patient satisfaction. • Foster compassionate communication that is centered on the patient and family. • Address and attempt to resolve any patient or family concerns. • Manage your time effectively to complete all assigned responsibilities within your shift. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate • Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). • CPR certification Preferred: • Certification in an area of nursing specialty This job description outlines the general nature and essential duties of this role.
