Job Summary: Provide compassionate and direct patient care to individuals experiencing behavioral health issues, in accordance with SSM Health's policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients, accurately and timely. • Utilize critical thinking to analyze patient data and coordinate changes with physicians. • Collaborate in the development and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans. • Document all nursing care and adhere to best practices in nursing standards. • Implement and record physician orders consistently and accurately. • Monitor safety for patients and staff within the unit environment. • Serve as a clinical resource, providing supervision for LPNs and nursing technicians. • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs, maintaining thorough records in the Electronic Health Record. • Apply evidence-based practices tailored to meet the individual needs of patients. • Demonstrate professional nursing standards, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics. • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety while performing duties. • Carry out additional tasks as assigned. Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program or hold equivalent qualifications for licensing. Experience: No prior experience is required. Physical Requirements: • Frequent oral communication. • Constant standing and walking. • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs and patient movement. • Frequent use of vision, hearing, and depth perception. Licensure and Certifications: • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA). • Registered Nurse (RN) - Must hold valid licensure in the respective state of practice.
