Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Responsible for providing clinical care for patients with implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop devices. Must demonstrate the professional and technical skills required to evaluate patient arrhythmia's and cardiac rhythm management devices, including program settings and troubleshooting. Acquires, maintains, and integrates knowledge of scientific principles and derived technology-based interventions for all cardiac devices.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for performing in-office and/or remote interrogations and any necessary reprogramming of cardiac devices. Including the interpretation of arrhythmia's, troubleshoot, and reprogram settings of pacemakers and defibrillators according to patients needs and department protocols. Independently documents instance of patient care in electronic medical record. Assures the accuracy and completeness of documentation and adherence to billing guidelines.
• Performs independent daily reviews of remote transmissions from implanted devices. Completes trans-telephonic checks on patient devices requiring follow up in between office visits to assess basic function and patient status. Correlates information with the patients clinical condition to assist in the management of arrhythmias. Provides reports to physicians and completes required follow up.
• Triages and prioritizes patient plan of care and communicates information to providers/patients in a timely manner. Demonstrates triage skills pertinent to determining normal and abnormal conditions. Reviews patient information including device, health history, medications and health status. Provides appropriate education and support to patient and/or family.
• Responsible for documenting patient contacts regarding any company recalls including more frequent monitoring and taking appropriate actions for any required device changes.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Requirements

Education
• Nursing Diploma/Associate's
