Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Cardiology RN , internally referred to as our Cardio Nurse, Cardi ac Stress RN or Cardiovascular RN . C ardiovascular RNs assist cardiologists by offering direct care to patients with acute or chronic cardiovascular diseases. They may use electrocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular monitoring to evaluate the heart health of our patients. Shift’s Available : Days Employment Type : PRN/PD Hours: 8 hour shifts - Hours may vary Location: St. Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: https://www.primehealthcare.com/careers/benefits/ Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): • A ssess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation • M onitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress • A dminister medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and intravenous infusions , including medications to regulate blood pressure, control arrhythmias, or manage heart failure symptoms • P rovid e education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively • A s a C ardiology RN you may assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress test • R espond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred. • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required. • One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
