
Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - Full Time in Garland, AR
Job Description
As a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, providing exceptional care for patients with complex health conditions. You will utilize your expertise to care for both routine and intricate medical needs, while also developing long-range goals for patient health outcomes. Your ability to manage clinical situations effectively will be vital in supporting patients and their families during challenging times.
Responsibilities:
• Fulfill the expectations set by OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, incorporating assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for each assigned patient.
• Attend to the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, tailored to your level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, while closely monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care administered.
• Evaluate learning needs and deliver educational resources to patients, family members, and caregivers to address their concerns.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
• Preferred 1 year of nursing experience in a related specialty, though new graduates are welcome to apply.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or a compact license is needed.
In line with the CHRISTUS Health Licensing Policy, all associates must achieve necessary certifications for their respective positions within the specified timeframe.
Credential Grace Periods:
Those required to obtain additional credentials following the Position Requirements section may have a grace period based on experience:
• Associates with at least one year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the past three years are considered Experienced Associates.
• Associates without at least one year of full-time acute care clinical experience in the same service line within the past three years are considered Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.
Credential Grace Periods for Required Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS): No grace period for all associates. Acceptable certification includes AHA or Red Cross, to be presented at the time of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required within 30 days for Experienced Associates and within 90 days for New Graduates & Experienced Associates New to Specialty.
• Pediatric Life Support (PALS): Required within 30 days for Experienced Associates and within 90 days for New Graduates & New Associates to Specialty.
• Additional certifications may be required based on department-specific guidelines.
