As a key member of the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS), the RN is essential in upholding our vision to provide the highest level of patient-centered care. The RN provides holistic care that:
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families

- Communicates and collaborates effectively within the healthcare team

Responsibilities
• 1. Standards of Practice: Guided by ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015), you will demonstrate competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• 2. Standards of Professional Performance: You will engage in professional activities such as ethics, culturally inclusive practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and evaluation of nursing practice.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification is required within one month of hire.
Experience:
- Registered Nurse is the foundational role for RNs, with opportunities to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Licensure:
- Must be a licensed RN in the State of Connecticut; clinical specialty certification is encouraged.
Special Skills:
- All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Physical Demand:
- Requires prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and assist patients ranging from five to three hundred pounds while managing potential exposure to infectious diseases.
