Job Summary:
Under the guidance of Nursing Leadership and in partnership with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse will implement evidence-based practices aligned with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role involves devising care plans for a diverse patient population while addressing their physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate's degree in Nursing.
• Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.
Experience:
• Minimum of one year clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse, with at least 1000 hours of direct patient care.
• Proven experience in IV/line placement; ACLS certification required.
• 1 to 3 years of CCU or med-surgical experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.
Licensure and Certification:
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of CT.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Additional specialty certifications may be required.
Skills and Abilities:
• Understanding of nursing principles and practices.
• Preferred membership in a professional nursing organization.
• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care effectively.
• Caring for a full patient caseload with increasing responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge in high reliability principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote a positive work environment and patient experiences.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Competence in providing age-appropriate care.
• Collaborative team player with strong preceptor and charge nurse capabilities.
• Self-directed in clinical responsibilities and adept at managing multiple priorities.
• Proficient with technology and industry applications.
