Registered Nurse - CVOR @ Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Summary: A Registered Nurse specializing in CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) needed for a travel assignment. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures. Requires strong clinical skills, experience with advanced surgical procedures and equipment, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Must be able to scrub cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries. Key Responsibilities: • Providing direct patient care in the CVOR setting. • Scrubbing for cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. • Monitoring patients' vital signs and hemodynamic status. • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed. • Assessing patients pre-operatively and post-operatively. • Documenting patient care accurately and timely in Epic charting system. • Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. • Maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to infection control protocols. • Operating and troubleshooting specialized equipment such as Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD). • Floating within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed. • Rotating weekends and call as required. • Adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Required Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of CVOR RN experience. • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia (GA) or Compact license. • ACLS and BLS certifications. • Experience with Epic charting system. Preferred Qualifications: • Community Hospital experience. • Trauma Level I or II experience. Shift Details: • Day shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) • Rotation weekends - Will be discussed during interview • Call: Yes/variable - Typically one week day/call every week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks Licensing Requirements: • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia (GA) or Compact license must be in hand at time of submittal.
