Responsibilities*
Level 12 Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Healthcare Pavilion.
CICU nurses care for patients who have critical needs related to cardiac conditions. Typically this would encompass patients in cardiogenic shock, CHF patients needing Swan Ganz diuresing, unstable cardiomyopathy, and pulmonary hypertension. Often these patients require CRRT, IABP and ventilator support. The CICU also may receive overflow from other ICUs.

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework REG NURSE - LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*
• Current RN licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum of two (2) years RN experience
• One (1) year of ICU RN experience within the last three (3) years

Work Schedule
Hours per week: 36 hours (0.9)
Shift: Night shift, 12 hour shifts, two out of four weekends
Location: D.Dan and Betty Kahn Healthcare Pavilion, Level 12, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Additional Information
The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center. High-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients will also be housed, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000 square foot hospital which also features twenty surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is Fall 2025.
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
