Summary:

You will play a vital role in managing clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and effectively delegating tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, tailored to their unique circumstances.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor patients for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, and care provided accurately.
• Assess patients’ learning needs, offering education and resources to patients, families, and caregivers.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• BLS certification required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact is necessary.

Position Requirements:

Education/Skills
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member, and onboarding will be validated through competency assessments.
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program with specific orientation requirements.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary.

Experience
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS certification required.

All associates must obtain required certifications within the designated time frame as per the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy.

Credential Grace Periods:
• Experienced associates: 1 year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the past 3 years.
• New graduates or individuals without relevant experience will have different grace periods for certifications.
