Job Description
Join our dedicated team in a 27-bed Emergency Department designated as a Level 4 Trauma Center, where we provide comprehensive emergency, urgent, and non-urgent care for patients of all ages. Our department is equipped to handle a wide range of medical needs, from basic ambulatory care to complex trauma interventions and life support. We proudly serve as a Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) center and Primary Stroke Center, with exciting plans for expansion that will include additional treatment rooms as well as integrated CT, X-Ray, and Laboratory services.

Summary:
As a competent Registered Nurse, you will practice independently while providing both routine and complex patient care. You will have the opportunity to develop long-range clinical goals and effectively manage the diverse and dynamic needs of our patients.
Responsibilities:
• Meet the expectations outlined in OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Deliver nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, engaging in assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following the appropriate protocols, while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers on relevant health issues and resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current BLS certification required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact.
Position Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated staff member, ensuring successful onboarding and competency validation.
• Participate in a residency program or specific orientation if a newly licensed RN.
• Complete all annual competency verification requirements.
Experience:
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS certification required.
• Current TNCC certification required.
Credential Grace Periods:
All associates are required to obtain necessary certifications within the designated time frame.
• Experienced Associates: ACLS and PALS within 30 days; TNCC within 60 days.
• New Graduates & Experienced Associates New to the Specialty: ACLS and PALS within 90 days; TNCC within 18 months.
