Roles & Responsibilities • Apply the nursing process within the Oregon RN scope of practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department • Provide compassionate patient and family education to promote understanding and support recovery • Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care • Deliver acute care interventions in a fast-paced ED environment, prioritizing patient safety and clinical excellence • Contribute to a positive team culture by communicating effectively and participating in unit-based problem solving Qualifications • Current RN licensure in Oregon (license does not need to be active at time of submission but candidate must be willing to obtain) • Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years — required • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience — required • ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) and TNCC — required (certifications do not need to be active at submission but candidate must be willing to obtain) • Strong clinical judgment, ability to triage and manage multiple patients in a high-acuity setting • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team Knowledge & Skills • Emergency Department and acute care nursing practices • Nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation • Patient education techniques and family-centered communication • Thorough documentation and electronic medical record proficiency • Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination • Pediatric and adult emergency care principles Benefits • On-site Employee Health Nurse Practitioner clinic for employees and their dependents — quick, convenient care when you need it • Support to obtain required certifications and an Oregon RN license (certs/licenses do not need to be active at submission but you must be willing to obtain them) • Work alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team that values your contributions and helps you grow • Meaningful clinical experience across pediatrics, obstetrics, oncology, geriatrics and emergency medicine to broaden your skills • Professional development opportunities and resources to keep your skills sharp • Flexible 12-hour scheduling that supports work-life balance • A supportive workplace culture focused on patient-centered care and staff wellbeing Travel Perks: Explore Coos Bay, OR Coos Bay is a coastal gem on Oregon’s southern coast — think dramatic shoreline, ocean breezes and plenty of outdoorsy adventures.
