Scope of Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization and decreasing costs. Position Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for managing care to the patient and family, and for directing and supervising the other members of the patient care team. He/she is responsible for assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care of patients. The RN prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the patient care team. Individuals within this position must be able to function fully within performance expectations defined for nurses in a medical-surgical setting.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire:
Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio licensure or interim permit.
On Going
Previous nursing experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.
