
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - PRN in Ida, LA
Job Description
As a competent Nurse specializing in emergency care, you will practice independently and leverage your clinical skills to provide both routine and complex patient care. You will play a vital role in managing clinical situations and contributing to long-range care plans for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate leadership qualities in line with OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Utilize the nursing process effectively for patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided thoroughly.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients and their families or caregivers on care and resources.
Position Requirements:
Education & Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member, ensuring comprehensive onboarding.
• Newly licensed RNs are encouraged to participate in a residency program for skill and competency validation.
• Completion of annual competency verification requirements is essential.
Experience:
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Certifications & Registration:
• Current BLS certification is required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact is necessary.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required.
