Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Location: Great Falls, MT
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: 3x12 (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, rotating weekends)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced emergency care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid assessment skills, and the ability to respond effectively to emergent and changing patient conditions with minimal supervision.
The Emergency RN collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure timely, safe, and patient-centered emergency care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid, accurate triage based on physical, psychosocial, and patient flow considerations
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes or treatment responses
• Communicate patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results to providers
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols
• Operate manual and electronic medical equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, mid-level providers, and allied health staff
• Provide guidance and direction to Emergency Department technicians and support staff
• Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and accountability in a high-acuity environment
Education & Experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program – required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience – required
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) – preferred
Licensure & Certifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Montana – required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC – required
