Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and provides exemplary patient-centered care in accordance with departmental protocols and specific care requirements. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, the RN delivers individualized, compassionate care based on established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. The RN advocates for patients and families while supporting the hospital's mission, vision, and values for an outstanding patient experience and improved clinical outcomes.
• Regularly assess patient pain and implement strategies for effective pain management, ensuring prompt reassessment post-intervention.
• Carry out medical orders with precision, documenting care delivery in a thorough and timely manner.
• Provide exceptional patient care by responding promptly to requests and anticipating patient needs proactively.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care, simplifying complex medical terms for better understanding.
• Guide patients and caregivers in non-medicinal follow-up care, including lifestyle changes for disease prevention and health enhancement, preparing them for effective self-management.
Qualifications:
• Must acquire PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license is mandatory.
• Associate Degree is required; BSN must be obtained with 12 months enrollment and 24 months completion as part of our Magnet recognition.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS Instructor certification within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed within 1 year of hire.
