Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Perform and document assessments in compliance with unit standards.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to policies.
• Identify and address patient and family teaching and discharge needs throughout care.
• Evaluate patient progress towards outcomes set by the care plan.
• Demonstrate competency in emergency situations.
• Delegate patient care tasks to healthcare team members based on their competencies.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed personnel in patient care.
• Assist with procedures and treatments as necessary.
• Complete required education and competency testing for specific procedures.
Qualifications:
Minimum ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required with at least two years of nursing experience. A valid New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License is mandatory.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Academic preparation from an accredited nursing program is essential. Specialty certifications in relevant practice areas are preferred.
