Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate effective care.
• Conduct assessments according to unit standards and maintain accurate documentation.
• Utilize and document care protocols, adhering to standards and policies.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments while documenting appropriately.
• Identify and address patient and family learning needs during admission and throughout care.
• Evaluate patient progress towards outcomes and document findings accurately.
• Demonstrate competence in emergency situations.
• Delegates care tasks to healthcare team members based on validated competencies.
• Provide clinical supervision for LPNs and non-licensed personnel.
• Communicate effectively to enhance leadership and validate patient care quality.
• Assist with various medical procedures or treatments, delegating when necessary.
• Complete age-specific education and competency testing as required by the unit.
Qualifications:
Minimum ADN preparation with at least two years of nursing experience required. Licensure includes State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• Required certifications for Emergency Departments: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Academic Qualification: Degree from an accredited nursing program (Conditional status programs may be considered with approval).
• Specialty Certifications in relevant areas preferred.
