Demonstrates accountability from knowing that appropriate nursing care is being delivered to assigned patients and evaluates outcome of delegation.Always demonstrates accountability for administration of, observation and reporting effects of drugs, intravenous procedures, other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and accurate manner; carefully orders, prepares, administers and evaluates medication and intravenous therapy. Patient Care Is able to accurately assess care for a patient's unique need (I.e. diagnosis, age) including physical-psychosocial aspects in accordance with unit guidelines.Utilizes the history and assessment information to identify patient problems or potential problems and set goals.Demonstrates the ability to effectively utilize the nursing process when providing direct patient care for all individuals from infancy through advanced age, as unit competency completed.Executes planned care and evaluation outcomes for all patients under his/her care. Modifies the care plan according to evaluated outcomes.Communicates pertinent information regarding patient care appropriately (I.e. shift report, unit to unit, transfer, etc.).Assesses, develops, and implements a teaching plan for patients/families; utilizes assessment data and discharge plan in a meaningful way for each patient's ability to understand.
