Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. Wilcox is part of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, one of the state’s leading health care systems and a not-for-profit health care organization with medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers working together to create a healthier Hawai‘i. The Emergency Room at Wilcox Memorial Hospital is Kaua‘i's only Level III Emergency Room. All Emergency Medicine physicians are board certified and committed to providing quality patient care in a high-intensity setting. With 20 patient rooms, our Emergency staff typically treats 60 patients per day during the week, and approximately 70 to 80 patient visits on weekends. Our Emergency Room staff also provides care to many visitors, in addition to addiction treatment and patients with chronic illnesses. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Room, you will have the opportunity to support physician staff within this high-intensity unit by delivering quality nursing care within the Emergency unit and coordinating care planning with other disciplines as needed. We are looking for someone with strong patient care and communication skills, willingness to work in a team-oriented atmosphere and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people. Location: Wilcox Medical Center Work Schedule: Rotating - 12 Hours Work Type: Full Time Regular FTE: 0.090000 Bargaining Unit: Hawaii Nurses Association Exempt: No Req ID 32009 Pay Range: 47.71 - 68.16 USD per hour Category: Nursing Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. Preferred Qualifications: Attendance of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), other trauma class or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). One (1) or more years experience in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing.
