Required Qualifications:
• NM State Nursing Licensing
• BLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• CGRN
• ACLS Certification – within six (6) months of hire/transfer
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works collaboratively with providers and other nursing departments to maintain continuity of patient throughput
• Utilizes assessment skills to provide patient safety during pre, intra and post procedure
• Places IV access and completes prerequisite medical interventions as ordered by the provider
• Assists with the setting up and cleaning of equipment adhering to all infection control practices
• Handles specimen according to laboratory process (i.e. pathology, histology, cytology, microbiology solutions)
• Documents accurately and efficiently per policy
• Clearly communicate discharge instructions to patients and caregiver
• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:
Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
• Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
• Recognize that potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or hazardous materials, x-ray, noxious/irritating fumes, long hours, and unforeseen conditions that might generate stress may be encountered
• Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance
• Must be able to walk, stand, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently
• Must be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds frequently
• Recognize that physical demands such as extensive walking, standing, lifting, positioning, pushing, and or transferring of patients may be required
• Responsible for on-call duties as assigned by GI Lab Manager
