An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care, providing critical support in a fast-paced acute care setting. This contract position offers the chance to work dedicated 12-hour evening shifts, ensuring comprehensive patient care for those in urgent need. Work Schedule and Location: • Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM • Weekend commitment: Every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month) • Location: Arlington Heights, IL area (local candidates preferred, within 75 miles) Key Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality nursing care in the emergency department, responding effectively to a wide variety of acute medical situations. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records. • Adhere to facility protocols and assist with patient flow, including floating within the facility network as required. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in emergency departments. • Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. • Comfortable with mandatory floating to other site areas within scope of practice. Facility and Work Environment: • Uniform: Navy blue scrub color required. • Charting System: Electronic charting via Cerner. • Parking: Convenient garage adjacent to the hospital with a short walk to the entrance. • Guaranteed 36 hours per week with structured time off guidelines protecting holiday and weekend coverage needs.
