Job Description
A critical access hospital in Crane, MT is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) to provide emergency care on a contract basis. This role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing across all age groups in a fast-paced rural healthcare setting.
Responsibilities include triaging, assessing, treating, and stabilizing patients in the Emergency Department. You will respond to trauma activations, medical emergencies, and urgent care needs while administering medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions following established protocols. Proficiency in operating emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and ventilators is essential. Collaboration with physicians, EMS, and interdisciplinary teams will be crucial for coordinated patient care and transfers. Accurate documentation in the electronic health record and patient and family education on treatment plans will be part of your daily duties. Adhering to safety standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements is mandatory.
Qualifications:
• Current RN license valid for practice (state-specific or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Capability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:
• Emergency, ICU, or acute care nursing experience
• PALS and TNCC certifications or willingness to obtain
• Experience in rural or critical access hospital environments
Physical & Work Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist in patient movement as necessary
• Comfortable managing high-stress and time-sensitive emergency situations
• Availability for on-call or callback duties as needed
