Registered Nurse ER | Fairmont, West Virginia in Fairmont, WV

A registered nurse with experience in emergency care is needed for an upcoming contract assignment in a hospital setting located in Fairmont, West Virginia. This 13-week position features structured shifts of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week, with no floating required. The emergency department operates with a triage area and a separate fast track open during the same hours as the shifts. Key Responsibilities: • Provide nursing care in a 33-bed emergency department including general ER, lower acuity areas, and fast track. • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in general ER, 1:5 in the lower acuity area, and 1:6 in fast track. • Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac strips. • Assist with ventilated patients and collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. • Follow established protocols using EPIC EMR. • Participate in holidays rotation with core staff and support smooth patient flow. • Uphold a positive work environment with effective communication and teamwork. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Valid RN licensure with Emergency Nursing experience. • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred. • Experience with telemetry interpretation and use of ventilators. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, efficient ER setting with diverse patient cases, including 15% pediatric patients. • Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably EPIC. • Ability to function as a charge nurse without direct patient assignment. • Willingness to adapt to an environment that supports travelers.
