An acute care hospital in Oviedo, FL is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a contract position. This opportunity is ideal for RNs with a strong background in emergency nursing and neuro/stroke care, ready to work a dynamic night shift schedule in a Level 1 trauma setting. Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Level 1 resuscitation patients in the Emergency Department • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech electronic health records • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols • Float within the assigned scope when necessary to support unit needs • Fulfill weekend and holiday shift requirements per hospital policy Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Current RN license with at least 2.5 years of Emergency Department experience • Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke nursing experience • Completion of at least two prior travel nursing assignments preferred • Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification highly preferred • Ability to handle fast-paced, high-acuity cases with excellent critical thinking skills Schedule and Shift Details: • Night shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) • Weekend requirement: every other weekend • Float assignments as needed • Block scheduling options considered on a case-by-case basis • Return to Orientation (RTO) policy requires no RTO within first or last week and limits RTO to 10 days max Additional Information: • Free parking available in any unrestricted space • Scrubs of any color allowed; no tee shirts or sweatshirts with logos from other organizations • Strict attendance policies with termination after 3 call-outs • Holiday shift coverage required based on number of holidays during assignment This contract opportunity provides exposure to a busy acute care setting with complex patient needs and a supportive environment for professional growth.
