Description Summary: As a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), you will play a critical role in delivering direct patient care in the preoperative environment. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, utilizing your expertise to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate comprehensive patient care activities. Responsibilities: • Embrace an expanded role in preoperative nursing, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to effectively assist the surgeon through structured training and hands-on practice. • Interpret diagnostic studies, and enhance patient health by promoting positive behaviors through education and meaningful counseling. Requirements: • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. • Completion of an approved RNFA course, including necessary internship hours. • 2-5 years of experience in an operating room setting. Proficient in preoperative nursing practices, both as a scrub and circulating nurse, with a broad range of operating room experience. • Current Texas State RN license. • CPR certification (American Heart Association). • BLS certification. • ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date. • Certification as a preoperative nurse (CNOR) is required. Work Schedule: 8AM - 5PM, Monday to Friday Work Type: Full Time
