Summary Registered Nurse - Float Pool Location: Carroll Hospital, Westminster, MD Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM | 12-hour shifts | Part-Time | On-Site Department: Float Pool Overview: Carroll Hospital is seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. This is a premium opportunity for an experienced nurse looking to work across a variety of inpatient units. The Float Pool RN will be expected to provide high-quality, evidence-based care while floating between Med-Surg, IMC, PCU, CCU, and the Emergency Department based on staffing needs. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Practice: • Utilize sound clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and decision-making • Apply evidence-based practice and situational learning in patient care • Accurately assess and document patient condition, pain, and comfort measures • Develop individualized plans of care, discharge planning, and educational support Collaboration & Communication: • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate patient care • Participate in daily team huddles, patient care discussions, and team meetings • Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure timely follow-up • Provide patient and family education to support informed decision-making Professionalism & Innovation: • Stay current with nursing best practices, research, and hospital protocols • Engage in quality improvement efforts and peer review • Demonstrate customer service excellence and uphold hospital standards • Follow standard algorithms, protocols, and safety policies across all units Patient Safety & Experience: • Perform hourly rounding and proactive patient engagement • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families • Be aware of and work toward the reduction of Nurse Sensitive Indicators (NSIs) Requirements: • Active RN license with the Maryland Board of Nursing (or compact state eligibility) • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification - Required • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - Required • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an IMC or higher-acuity care setting • Flexibility and comfort working across multiple inpatient units What We Offer: • Full Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, etc.) • PTO and self-scheduling flexibility • Premium Float Pool Differential pay • Supportive leadership and a collaborative team environment • Access to continuing education and professional development opportunities Additional Information Who We Are: LifeBridge Health is a dynamic, purpose-driven health system redefining care delivery across the mid-Atlantic and beyond, anchored by our mission to “improve the health of people in the communities we serve.” Join us to advance health access, elevate patient experiences, and contribute to a system that values bold ideas and community-centered care.
