
Registered Nurse for Home Dialysis in Clarks Hill, SC
Job Description
The Home Therapy Registered Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional patient training and ongoing support for individuals choosing home dialysis options. This role is dedicated to ensuring high-quality care and outstanding customer service in all patient interactions.
• Training Responsibilities: The nurse will conduct in-center and home training for patients on home hemo and peritoneal dialysis.
• Qualifications: Experience in hemodialysis, critical care, or home health is appreciated; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Schedule: Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility based on patient needs.
• On-Call Compensation: Competitive pay for on-call shifts when part of the rotation.
• Holidays: Rare holiday shifts for Home Training Nurses.

Key Responsibilities:
• Comply with all local and federal regulations regarding dialysis patient care.
• Provide comprehensive training for patients and their caregivers in self-care dialysis methods.
• Assess and document patients’ home environments through regular home visits.
• Communicate evaluations and ongoing patient needs with the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records reflecting patient interactions and progress.
• Engage in infection control practices and ensure readiness for emergency procedures.
• Manage clinical inventory and order supplies as necessary for patient prescriptions.
• Pursue continuous quality improvement in patient care through data tracking and analysis.
• Coordinate laboratory testing as ordered and promptly communicate critical results.
• Conduct monthly reviews of patient medications and administer prescribed treatments.
• Participate in on-call shifts and demonstrate flexibility in staffing locations and schedules.
• Regular attendance is essential for the role.
Specific Requirements for Home Hemodialysis:
• Coordinate home evaluations to ensure safe setup for equipment operation.
• Oversee water quality testing as per policy and report results accordingly.
Qualifications:
• Current RN licensure in the applicable state, maintained in good standing.
• A minimum of 12 months of nursing experience with at least 3 months in a relevant dialysis modality.
• Previous experience with dialysis patients is preferred.
• CPR certification is mandatory before patient interactions.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors is essential.
• Successful completion of the Home Therapy Nurse Orientation program and ongoing skill evaluations are required.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer skills required; proficiency in all clinical applications must be achieved within 90 days of hire.
• Meet any applicable state practice requirements.
• Pass additional background and orientation requirements as needed for the assigned program.
