Job Summary and Qualifications
Under general supervision, the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. Collaborating with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members, the RN assesses nursing care needs, plans interventions, and evaluates care outcomes. The RN also provides direct care and supervises non-licensed nursing staff while ensuring care is tailored to the age-specific needs of infant, adolescent, and adult patients. Additionally, the RN may take charge of the unit by making patient assignments and overseeing staff and unit activities during their shift.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• If hired after 6/1/12, must obtain BSN within 24 months of hire.
• Couplet Care experience is required.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact license.
• Current BLS provider card from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• If hired after 1/1/21, NRP certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
• STABLE certification within 18 months of hire; renewal not required.
