
Registered Nurse Forensic Examiner/SANE in Applewood, CO
Job Description
Join our team and work nights while earning more! With our Night Shift Incentive Program, you can receive $1,600 quarterly ($6,400/year). We are seeking passionate candidates with at least 1 year of registered nurse experience in an acute care or hospital setting.

Department: MHC Forensic Nurse Examiners
Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Nights
Pay: $35.29 - $54.71/hour, depending on relevant experience
This is an onsite position with no remote options available.
Summary:
As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will perform crucial forensic examinations for individuals affected by sexual assault or violence, providing exceptional patient care and referrals.
Responsibilities:
• Take medical histories and accounts of incidents from patients and assess their psychological condition through physical examinations.
• Collect and preserve evidence and relevant specimens while meticulously documenting findings.
• Administer direct nursing care for injuries and provide prophylactic medications; refer to appropriate facilities for follow-up treatment.
• Communicate effectively with victims and their families regarding evidence collection and treatment options, promoting informed decision-making while providing victim advocacy and potential expert testimony.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to function with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and complete Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within three months of hire.
• 1 year of nursing experience or 6 months as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, valid upon hire.
