Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Details:
• Self-preferential scheduling provided four weeks in advance for better predictability.
• A culture of respect and collaboration among all surgical staff.
• Continual investment in cutting-edge equipment to facilitate your best work, prioritizing patient safety and operational efficiency in the Operating Room.
• Opportunity to collaborate with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to voice suggestions for patient care improvements.
• On-call work required during certain non-business hours.

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate patients before surgical procedures.
• Provide both patient and family education regarding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Take charge of patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, administering preoperative medications, and confirming surgical site accuracy.
• Involve in surgical site protocols, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and compliance with universal protocols per hospital policy.
• Quickly identify and manage patient emergencies.
• Deliver exceptional, patient-centered care while managing best practices and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
• Be a vital part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists.
• Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care independently.
• Assess patient conditions and document any changes alongside care provided throughout your shift.
• Educate patients and their families or caregivers on medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up actions.
Qualifications:
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Registered Nurse diploma or degree.
