Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - General Surgery Department
Location: Saint Luke's South Hospital
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Opportunity for up to two remote days per week after initial 90-day orientation period)
We are seeking a highly motivated and professional Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery team at Saint Luke's South. This role operates within a dynamic clinic setting, providing comprehensive nursing care and coordinating patient services following established organizational standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Clinical Care & Triage: Deliver professional nursing care, manage patient flow, coordinate care logistics, and conduct comprehensive telephone triage.
• Patient Management: Schedule emergent appointments, provide IV access and medication administration, and document all patient care and testing accurately.
• Education & Assessment: Serve as a subject matter expert for patient education, conducting thorough assessments, interpreting results, and identifying specific learning needs for patients and their families.
• Operational Support: Enter admission orders as directed by the provider, manage expired medical samples according to protocol, and delegate tasks to clinical staff consistent with demonstrated competencies and Scope of Practice guidelines.
• Collaboration: Work effectively both autonomously and within a collaborative team atmosphere.
Qualifications & Skills
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Ability to provide cross-functional support, which may include covering Medical Assistant, LPN, or other administrative office duties as needed.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) KS and MO license.
