Job Role: As a Registered Nurse, you will collaborate within interdisciplinary teams focused on patient-centered care. Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, you will utilize evidence-based practices in alignment with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and medical staff directives. Your nursing expertise will enable you to create and implement care plans addressing the holistic needs (physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, educational) of patients and their families.
Qualifications:
• Education: Graduate of a nursing school.
• Experience: One (1) year of experience or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Licensure: Unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Connecticut, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. Ability to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Education: BSN or MSN.
• Experience: Two (2) or more years in a relevant clinical area.
• Certification: Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN).
Skills and Abilities:
• Basic understanding of nursing principles and practices.
• Effective communication skills for conveying technical information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with patients and teams.
• Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
Problem Solving and Decision Making: You will demonstrate strong analytical skills to interpret information and respond appropriately to various situations, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
