Registered Nurse – GI Lab / Endoscopy Pre-Op & Post-Op (RN) Location: Evanston, IL Unit: GI Lab – Endoscopy Pre-Op / Post-Op Type: Contract Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week) Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift | 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM start time Weekends: None Holidays: None About the Role MedOp Solutions is partnering with a healthcare organization in Evanston, Illinois to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the GI Lab – Endoscopy Pre-Op and Post-Op unit for a 12-week contract assignment. This role supports a high-volume endoscopy service line, providing pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery care for patients undergoing GI procedures with moderate sedation. Strong cardiac monitoring skills and endoscopy experience are required. Unit Overview • Unit: GI Lab – Endoscopy Pre-Op / Post-Op • Daily Case Volume: Approximately 30–60 cases per day • Patient Population: Adult endoscopy patients requiring moderate sedation Key Responsibilities • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for GI and endoscopy patients. • Prepare patients for procedures, including assessment, education, and IV access. • Monitor patients receiving moderate sedation and manage recovery safely. • Perform cardiac rhythm monitoring and EKG interpretation as required. • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and unit protocols. • Monitor patients post-procedure for complications and ensure safe discharge readiness. • Document all patient care accurately and timely in EPIC. • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and GI lab staff to ensure efficient patient flow. • Maintain compliance with patient safety standards and procedural guidelines. Qualifications • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required. • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, PACU, or Pre-Op/Post-Op required. • Experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation required. • Current certifications required: • CPR/BLS • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required at time of submission) • Successful completion of an EKG competency exam (minimum 80% pass rate) required prior to submission. • EPIC electronic medical record experience required. • Strong cardiac monitoring, assessment, and recovery care skills.
