Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 3x12-Hour Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (three nights/week) OR 3x12-Hour Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (three days/week); self-scheduled (no set/blocked schedule), weekends variable; 12-hour day/night only
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
• Administer chemotherapy safely and confidently per ONS protocols and facility policy
• Provide focused telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Manage IV therapy, start and maintain IVs, and perform central line blood draws
• Safely prepare and administer blood and blood products with vigilant monitoring
• Implement and champion infection prevention protocols for an immunocompromised population
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies and participate with Rapid Response Teams
• Deliver compassionate care to adults and geriatrics with acute leukemia and related diagnoses
• Document thoroughly and accurately using EPIC to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services and other teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Support patient and family education around chemotherapy, body fluid handling, and abnormal lab values
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; must meet experience requirements within the past 3 years
• At least 1 year of hematology/oncology specialty experience (current specialty experience required for clinical pass)
• ONS chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC)
• BLS and ACLS required
• MS/Tele experience and demonstrated telemetry monitoring/interpretation skills
• Travel experience required — first-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
• Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Knowledge & Skills
• Telemetry interpretation and continuous telemetry monitoring (GE/B450 monitors)
• Dysrhythmia recognition and use of Rapid Response Teams
• Chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line care and accessing/management of ports
• Administration and monitoring of blood & blood products
• Feeding tube care and management
• Proficiency with EPIC computerized charting
• Strong infection prevention practices and patient falls prevention strategies
• Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage electrolyte/blood product needs
