Registered Nurse-Homecare Agency in Bismarck, ND

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Homecare Agency, providing high-quality patient care in a home and community setting. This role offers an opportunity to work independently while utilizing a broad range of clinical skills across various specialties, including critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems, medication administration, and patient assessment, ensuring safe and effective care tailored to each patient's needs. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards is essential to maintain compliance and protect patient privacy. Duties • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. • Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and catheter care. • Manage airway support such as ventilator care and oxygen therapy in accordance with best practices. • Conduct specialized procedures such as suturing, ostomy care, wound management, and tube feeding. • Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and order entry. • Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and health coaching to optimize patient outcomes. • Provide education to patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, and health promotion strategies. • Ensure infection control practices are followed rigorously to prevent transmission of infectious diseases. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across hospital medicine, post-acute care facilities, hospice & palliative medicine, and outpatient clinics. • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and documentation. • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in medical imaging, CPT/ICD coding, sterile processing techniques, and other relevant areas. Experience • Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as ICU, Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical units, or specialized areas like Neonatal ICU (NICU), PICU, or Trauma Centers (Level I & II). • Background working with populations including geriatrics (long-term care, memory care), pediatrics (neonatal to toddler), behavioral health patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities. • Familiarity with advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization, spinal taps, gastrostomy tube management, or dialysis is preferred. • Experience with complex medical conditions including acute pain management, infectious disease care, post-operative recovery (including ostomy & dermal fillers), or hospice & palliative medicine is highly desirable. • Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities such as intake assessments, laboratory processing (phlebotomy), specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging reports. • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases is a plus.
